Acceptance of terms
By using the Kristen's Cookie Jar website or by contacting us to place an order, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the website or place an order.
How ordering works
Orders are taken by email or through the contact form on this website. Because every batch is baked to order in a home kitchen, submitting an order request does not automatically confirm your order. Your order is confirmed only when Kristen has emailed you back with:
- Confirmation that the items and quantities you asked for are available for your requested date
- The final total including any applicable delivery or pickup arrangement
- Payment instructions (typically e-Transfer)
Kristen reserves the right to decline any order, including where the request exceeds current baking capacity, where dietary or allergen requirements cannot be safely accommodated in the home kitchen (see Disclaimer), or for any other reason.
Payment
Payment is by Interac e-Transfer (or another method agreed at confirmation). Payment is due by the deadline stated in the confirmation email (typically before baking begins for the order). Orders for which payment has not been received by the stated deadline may be cancelled.
Changes and cancellations
The exact cancellation window will be stated in your order confirmation and depends on how far in advance you order and whether specialty ingredients are involved. As a general guide: orders cancelled before baking begins are fully refundable. Orders cancelled after baking has started, or on the day of pickup or delivery, cannot be refunded because the ingredients and baking time have already been committed. Custom orders (special decorations, colours, or shapes ordered specifically for your event) are non-refundable once baking begins.
Pickup and delivery
Most orders are picked up in Selkirk, Manitoba, at a time arranged in the confirmation email. Delivery may be offered for larger orders, subject to distance and scheduling. Delivery fees, if any, are stated in the confirmation. Once an order is picked up or delivered and left in your care, responsibility for the product passes to you.
Storage and freshness
Baked goods are made without commercial preservatives. Follow the storage guidance provided with your order to keep everything at its best. See our Disclaimer for allergen and shelf-life notes.
Use of the website
You may use this website for lawful purposes only: to learn about the bakery, view the menu and photos, and place an order. Automated scraping of the site for commercial purposes is prohibited without prior written consent.
Content and intellectual property
All content on this website (text, photography, recipes referenced, branding) is the property of Kristen's Cookie Jar and is protected by Canadian and international copyright and trademark laws.
Third-party links and content
Links to Instagram, Facebook, and other third-party services are provided for convenience. Those services operate independently. Their use is governed by their own terms.

Content on this website is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. See our Disclaimer for the important allergen and home-kitchen notes. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kristen's Cookie Jar shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your access to or use of this website or from the consumption of any product where allergen guidance has been followed and the product has been stored per instructions.
Governing law
These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of the Province of Manitoba and the laws of Canada applicable therein. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Manitoba.
